Our Values
Makeup with us is built on the foundation of skincare. As a licensed esthetician and skincare expert, Alexa pays special attention to work with you on a skincare plan or regimen to get your skin in its best shape leading up to the wedding day. We are experts in creating makeup looks that feel flawless yet comfortable, and not ever heavy or cakey.
We'll bring a calm, put together, and easygoing presence so you can focus on hanging with friends and family without being overpowered. We want you to feel comfortable, and have a good time without having to worry to even check how you look because we'll be your mirror for the day.
We pay big attention to detail. That goes for our actual makeup process as well as our communication process leading up to the big day. We want you to have that cozy feeling of hugging your artist on the morning of your wedding vs. having to introduce yourself on your important day.
We design your makeup look to work with the camera. We will do our research to make sure we understand your photographer's lighting and editing style so we can tailor your makeup to look flawless whether their photo style is dark and moody or light and airy. While keeping this in mind, we'll never be heavy handed. We prioritize you feeling comfortable and like your best self in real life over anything.

Yes! You can book a trial before committing to locking in the date. I always like to note that if you do choose to book your trial prior to the date, your date is not held unless there is a contract signed and retainer paid.
We have an amazing team of artists, so we are able to accommodate for as many people as you need.
Alexa is based on the Upper East Side in Manhattan, and is currently accepting weddings in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island City, The Hamptons, and destination locations upon request.
The Alexa Rae Makeup team is accepting weddings in all the above areas, with the addition of Westchester, Jersey City and Hoboken.
I've always worn makeup, but I was truly stunned when I saw myself in the mirror. The way my skin glowed with perfect blend to my neck was unlike anything I'd seen, and she made my best features pop. She listens to what you want but also uses her expertise to craft the best result for you, specifically. She can do any look -- we did a bold red lip with bronze smokey eye for my rehearsal, but switched it up to a more matte and neutral look for my wedding day. I was equally obsessed with both. Alexa was unbelievable to work with and is by far the most talented makeup artist I have worked with. She can do both a very light/natural look or a more dramatic look. I had the pleasure of working with her for both my rehearsal dinner and wedding day where we changed up the looks (dramatic for rehearsal, more natural for wedding).
